Work experience other than teaching at NCC: 2 years Automotive Tech., 2 years General Machinist, 8 years Automotive Machinist.

Hobbies/Favorite things: biking, fishing, woodworking and member of the Sheldon Fire Department.

Best known for: Enjoying a good time along with teaching the students as much as possible.

How current students would describe me:
Knowledgeable in the automotive area. Wanting the student to learn as much as they can.

Education: BS Vocational Education

Work experience other than teaching at NCC: General auto technician positions with various employers.

Hobbies/Favorite things: Working on antique cars, woodworking, being outside.

How current students would describe me:
Fair, easy to get along with, knowledgeable.

This program is challenging and allows an individual to not only think his way through a problem but also to repair it using his hands and today's sophisticated equipment.

Year I came to NCC: 2007

Education: 2 years at Willmar AUTI Auto Program, ASE Master Certified Technician with LI Advanced Engine Performance Certified

Work experience other than teaching at NCC: 25 years work experience with 19 years as an independent shop owner

Hobbies/Favorite things: camping, archery, scuba diving, hunting, working on cars, and being with my family (wife and three children)

Why you should choose this program: Automotive service is a challenging opportunity to provide a much-needed service for today's vehicle owner. Our automotive programs provide realistic and practical "hands-on" learning opportunities with state-of-the-art equipment and computerized information systems. Students will learn about all phases of the automobile including: suspension and brake systems, drive trains, engine rebuilding, electricity and electronics, heating and air conditioning, engine performance and computerized controls. Our award winning Automotive Service Technology program is certified by ASE's National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation and has been selected as the Best Automotive Service Program in Iowa for ten years since 1984. All instructors are ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certified automotive technicians.

Year I came to NCC: 1997

Education: Pinellas Vocational Technical Institute (Now PTEC) 1985 Auto Body, University of South Florida Non-grad Education.

Work experience other than teaching at NCC: Collision repair - 9 years total (2 1⁄2 years with private owned shops, 2 1⁄2 years with Buick dealership, 4 years with Chevrolet dealership). Taught Auto Body for 4 years at Tampa Bay Technical High School.

Hobbies/Favorite things: Cooking, working in the yard, playing with my kids.

Best known for: Choosing to live in Iowa over Florida. Keeping an alligator head in my office.

How current students would describe me:
Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable.
